What it does
Coming to DaVinci Resolve. What is listed here is the After Effects version.
- It goes behind your subject
- Point the flare at a matte layer. When the light passes behind your subject it dims, and a bright bloom fires along the edge it crosses, the way a sun flares as it clears a shoulder.
- Built like a lens
- Ghosts mirror through the lens centre as the light moves. Set the blade count and the ghost shapes and the starburst follow: six blades give six spikes, nine give eighteen.
- Every element on its own fader
- Glow, rays, starburst, ghosts, halo, anamorphic streak and lens dirt each get a level in one master mix. Up to eight ghosts can be placed and shaped by hand, from eleven shapes.
- Finds the lights for you
- Place the light by hand, or let it find up to eight bright sources in your footage and flare each one.
- Moves with the music
- Pick an audio layer and let loudness, hits or a frequency band push brightness, scale, complexity, rotation or a lens shake. Up to four drivers at once.
- Textures and lens dirt
- Give any of the hand-placed ghosts one of twelve built-in textures or your own image layer, and lay lens dirt over the whole frame: specks, smudges, scratches or your own image.
- Randomize
- One click rolls a new look with colours that belong together. Roll the whole flare, or just the ghosts, the halo or the rays, and keep the rest.
